COMMUNIQUÉ OF THE INTERNATIONALIST ANTI-IMPERIALIST FRONT IN DEFENSE OF THE BOLIVARIAN REVOLUTION AND ITS PRESIDENT NICOLAS MADURO.

22 January, 2019  By Frente Antiimperialista Internacionalista

We are at the height of the offensive of the Western imperialist bloc hegemonized by the U.S. against the resistance of all the peoples, states and governments of Latin America that do not accept the mandate of the U.S. We are referring to Bolivia, Nicaragua, Cuba and at this moment in a special way to Venezuela.

Juan Guaidó’s statements on January 19 encouraging a coup d’état by the Bolivarian National Armed Force to overthrow President-elect Nicolás Maduro and put an end to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, built and defended for 20 years by the Venezuelan people, is an act that attacks the democratic order, even if the “opposition” says–paradoxically–that it defends democracy.

The “opposition” is a term used by the empire to disguise as “democrats” its internal shock forces made up of national elites, mercenaries, hit men, terrorists and traitors to its country.

This internal shock force was defeated on July 30, 2017 in Venezuela. After this defeat, the “opposition” was divided and dismantled and the empire had to opt for direct external aggression, which although it never ceased to exist, thereafter remained the only viable instrument to subdue Venezuela.

Pushing for a military coup d’état against a democratic state is consistent with the escalation of aggressions that have preceded Guaidó’s declaration: theft of arms from the army to carry out terrorist actions, declarations by Venezuelan military deserters in Colombia, provocations by U.S. ships in Venezuelan jurisdictional waters and previously, the guarimbas, armed attacks on public institutions and public property, or the 2002 coup d’état.

These latest aggressions by the empire and its internal allies are not isolated incidents; they correspond to a genocidal plan announced by the admiral of the U.S. Southern Command in 2016 in his Freedom-2 document. Imperialism does not hide its plans for domination and is willing to use any violent method to achieve it. The empire tries to hide this new aggression against democracy and peace through its media artillery in support of the coup, while it prepares its armies and those of its allies, whatever their nature.

We denounce the complicity of the European Union in the siege of Venezuela and the role that Spain has so far been playing as a vector and spokesperson for US foreign policy within the European Union.

All our solidarity with peace, the Bolivarian Revolution and Democracy.

No to the coup! No to imperialist terrorism!

Long live the struggle of the Venezuelan people and their government!
